Tension Transducer
An electronic measurement device continuously monitors the physical force applied to a moving yarn sheet during warping or sizing. The in-line load cell converts the mechanical pull of the flax yarn into a proportional electrical signal. By placing these sensors directly on the guide rollers, mills obtain continuous feedback on warp tension without disrupting the manufacturing line.
Signal Processing
The generated electrical output is sent to a central control unit that regulates the warp beam brake or motor speed. An in-line load cell detects minute fluctuations caused by yarn thickness variations or bobbin changes, allowing instant tension adjustments. If the tension exceeds a preset threshold, the system automatically slows the winding motor to prevent yarn breaks.
This real-time feedback loop is essential for maintaining uniform tension across thousands of individual linen ends, preventing loose strands that cause loom stoppages during subsequent production phases.
Process Limit
Calibration of each sensor must be verified against manual spring-gauge readings at the start of every production shift. An in-line load cell has a specific measurement range, and selecting an incorrect capacity sensor leads to either poor sensitivity or sensor overload. When processing coarse linen yarns, a higher capacity cell is mounted to withstand the larger forces generated by heavy strands.
These adjustments are logged in the quality control system to ensure traceability.
